Member Ethics and Conduct
Texas Gun Experience is a Family Friendly range that welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and cultures. We support the 2nd amendment right of all Americans. Our goal is to be inclusive and to allow the freedom for everyone to educate, train and maintain their liberties and exercise their right to bare arms.
MEMBERS
CODE OF ETHICS:
- All members of the TEXAS GUN EXPERIENCE (TGE) will treat everyone with respect and honesty.
- Members will show respect for and obey all applicable laws, rules and regulations while on TGE property.
- Members will be respectful of safety and act with integrity, fairness, and strive to be honest and trustworthy.
- All members should display an attitude of sportsmanship and friendship and strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment and respect the privacy of others.
- There shall be no tolerance of behavior, activities, or apparel promoting gangs or hate groups on the TGE facility or outside properties associated with TGE.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
- Members are required to ensure their guests follow all rules, and regulations. Also ensuring their guests are legally and mentally allowed to be in possession of a firearm. Guests are held to the same standards as any TGE member.
- Members will always uphold and adhere to the 4 Rules of Gun Safety:
- Treat every weapon as if it were loaded.
- Never point your weapon at anything you don’t intend to shoot.
- Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you intend to fire.
- Keep your weapon on safe until you intend to fire.
- Members and guests are responsible for familiarizing themselves with exit routes, all signage, and possible danger zones in and around the TGE facility.
- Members shall treat the equipment with respect and report any and all equipment malfunctions and or maintenance needs to any TGE personnel.
- All members shall police their firing lanes, target areas and clean up the area prior to departure.
- Members are not allowed to consume ALCOHOL or CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES prior or during shooting. Such substances are prohibited in or around TGE property.
Violation of this Code of Ethics, Range Rules and Regulations, or destruction of TGE property could result in possible revocation of memberships and/or removal from Texas Gun Experience property.
ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION AND FIREARMS
Texas Gun Experience is a family-friendly range, where we allow everyone the freedom to educate, train, maintain their liberties, and exercise their right to bear arms. Safety is paramount to continue to exercise our firearm rights, so we require you to please adhere to the alcohol consumption guidelines below.
The following policy applies to you and any of your guests:
- No drinking is allowed before or during shooting.
- Firearms MUST be secured and stored if you have or are consuming alcohol.
- Once you have consumed ANY amount of alcohol you are not allowed to shoot for the rest of the day.
- You are only allowed to consume a maximum of 3 drinks.
- Alcohol is not to leave the premises; unless it’s in its original unopened container and NOT intended for consumption in a motorized vehicle.
This is a zero-tolerance policy. Any violation of this policy will result in a 30-day suspension, and possible termination of membership and or the future use of the facility.
Range Rules
Before you shoot a gun, you must know and practice all of the Core Firearm Safety Rules. These rules are to keep you, fellow shooters, and our staff safe.
Always treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
Always keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction.
Always keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
Always keep your firearm on safe until you intend to fire.
Eye and ear protection are mandatory while on the range.
If you observe any unsafe situation alert a Range Safety Officer immediately.
Never cross the firing line for any reason. Alert a Range Safety Officer to help retrieve a fallen item.
All firearms must be holstered and/or cased while entering, exiting, or on the premises, unless you are in your shooting stall.
If you do not know how to operate your firearm or have a malfunction of any kind, please alert a Range Safety Officer immediately to help you. Keep your firearm on the bench and pointed down range during this time.
- All firearms shot on the range must have some sort of aiming device, such as iron sights, scopes, red dots, etc.
No black powder, incendiary or tracer rounds are allowed to be fired at our facility.
Only slugs are allowed to be fired through a shotgun.
No green tip, steel core, armor penetrating, or tracer ammunition is allowed on the range.
If you hear the command “CEASE FIRE” from any staff member or shooter, please place your firearm on the bench pointed down range and move to the back to await further instructions.
Shooters may collect their own brass behind the firing line.
If you bring more than one firearm, we recommend that you uncase only one at a time. This will reduce the chance of loading the wrong ammunition and will allow you the space to shoot comfortably without interference.
Commands issued by a Range Safety Officer are final and to be obeyed.
To return rental inventory please notify the RSO.
Rifle calibers up to .458 permitted in 50 yard range only.
For safety and visibility, we limit lanes to no more than 4 people at one time.
Never use alcohol or drugs prior to coming to Texas Gun Experience. We reserve the right to refuse service to or remove individuals from the facility who are suspected of being under the influence.
Always keep your children at arm’s length.
Do not bring food, drinks, or vaping and tobacco products on to the range.
Only case or un-case your firearms on the bench inside your stall.
Do not participate in unsafe activities. Foul language, horseplay or any other activities deemed unsafe by our staff will not be permitted.
If you must move a firearm from one stall to another Alert a Range Safety Officer for help or ensure it is in its case or bag before moving.
Wash your hands prior to leaving our facility to remove lead and other shooting contaminants.
Rapid Fire and/or double tapping is permitted in 2-3 round bursts. However, we reserve the right to stop and prevent future rapid-fire sessions if we witness unsafe firearm handling, including loss of firearm control.
Drawing and Shooting from a holster may be limited to certain hours. Ask Range Check-in when you arrive to see if draw and shoot is available. This will not be available during peak hours. We reserve the right to stop and prevent future draw from holster sessions if we witness unsafe firearm handling, including loss of firearm control.
